Apple Spatial Audio Monitoring in Mixbus 10

In this video, we explore an advanced routing setup for using Dolby Atmos in Harrison Mixbus 10 within a stereo mixing environment. By utilizing Ginger Audio's GroundControl Sphere, a virtual monitor controller application, we can route the immersive 7.1.4 output, the immersive binaural output, and the regular stereo output from Mixbus to separate inputs in GroundControl Sphere. This allows us to listen to each output independently and switch between them seamlessly. Additionally, we incorporate Apple Spatial Audio Monitoring with AirPods in head tracking mode, enabling us to hear the 7.1.4 output as if we were working with a 7.1.4 speaker setup.

The video provides a step-by-step guide on setting up GroundControl Sphere with Apple AirPods and configuring the routing in Mixbus 10 to match the inputs in GroundControl Sphere. It also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of this setup, including the cost of GroundControl Sphere and the limitations of using AirPods as studio headphones.
