MiniDSP Flex Review

In this video, I share my experience with the MiniDSP Flex, a digital signal processor that has significantly improved the quality of my studio setup. Despite the less-than-ideal positioning of my ADAM T7V monitors and T10S subwoofer, I wanted to optimize the sound without making significant changes to my current setup. I discuss my previous attempts at using various room correction systems, such as Sonarworks, IK Multimedia's ARC, and Waves' TRACT, and explain why I found the MiniDSP Flex to be the most effective solution for my needs.

I provide an overview of the MiniDSP Flex, its features, and the setup process using the MiniDSP Device Console application and the Dirac Live software. I also compare the cost of the balanced version of the MiniDSP Flex, the Dirac Live license, and the measurement microphone to other options on the market. Finally, I share the results of using the MiniDSP Flex with Dirac Live, highlighting the improved stereo imaging, more accurate phantom center, and better frequency response compared to other room correction systems I have tried. Despite a few remaining room mode issues, I highly recommend the MiniDSP Flex for those looking to enhance their studio setup.
