Move It Plugin Review: The Ultimate Surround Sound Tool or Overpriced Gimmick?

In this video, I take a deep dive into Move It by HAL, a new panning plugin designed for immersive and spatial audio production. While advertised as an "ultimate surround sound tool," Move It offers more than just panning capabilities. It integrates several useful features into a consolidated package, including a mixer and a routing window. I demonstrate its functionality, highlighting both its strengths and areas for improvement.

Despite its innovative features, Move It has some usability issues that potential users should be aware of. The interface lacks a height-information view, the resizing options are limited, and the keyboard shortcuts can be unintuitive. Most critically, the plugin doesn't allow users to force it into specific channel configurations, which can be problematic in DAWs like Reaper. While it performs well in DAWs with defined multi-channel configurations, the high price point of 189 euros may not be justifiable for hobbyists.
