Sound Particles InDelay: The Swiss Army Knife of Delay Plugins?

In this video, I take a deep dive into Sound Particles' new delay plugin, InDelay. This innovative tool supports immersive audio formats up to 22.2 and 6th order ambisonics, but it's equally powerful for stereo production. I walk you through the plugin's interface, exploring its channel-based, tab-based, and particle-based approaches to delay. InDelay's unique feature is its ability to accommodate both traditional channel-based workflows and native 3D processing, making it versatile for various production styles. I demonstrate its capabilities using a simple kick drum in Ableton Live, showcasing features like multichannel support, 3D positioning, and various modulation options.

While I'm impressed with InDelay's functionality and interface, I also point out a few areas for improvement. These include the need for per-channel sync settings, enhancements to the filter section (particularly the addition of high-pass and low-pass filters), and the ability to place static tabs below the listener position in Ambisonics mode. Despite these minor drawbacks, I find InDelay to be a powerful and flexible delay plugin that bridges the gap between traditional and immersive audio production. At its current price point, especially with the launch discount, I believe it offers excellent value for those interested in exploring immersive delay effects.
