Is the Waves Immersive Wrapper Worth $250? An Honest Plugin Review

In this video, I review the new Waves Immersive Wrapper plugin which transforms any Waves mono plugin into a multi-channel plugin for immersive audio workflows up to 9.1.6 channel layouts. While the $250 price tag is steep, I explore its innovative features including flexible channel group controls, comprehensive sidechaining capabilities, and the ability to link different instances together - even between bed tracks and objects in Dolby Atmos productions. The user interface is extremely well-designed and intuitive, making it a potentially powerful tool for immersive audio production.

After extensive testing, I've found the plugin to be technically impressive despite my initial skepticism about Waves products. However, I can only recommend it to two groups: those who already have the Waves Ultimate subscription where it's included at no extra cost, and professionals who heavily use Waves plugins and don't mind committing further to their ecosystem. For hobbyists or those using diverse plugin collections, better alternatives exist at lower price points, such as offerings from Red Rock Sound. The plugin's biggest limitation remains its inability to wrap non-Waves VST plugins, which significantly reduces its value proposition at this price point.
