New Plugin Alert!

In this video, I explore two new plugins: Audio Brewers' Astrometry Delay, an immersive tap delay with innovative features, and NovoNotes' SideRack, which allows you to use your iOS device as an external digital signal processor. I demonstrate how to use the Astrometry Delay plugin in Ableton Live, showcasing its unique sound spot feature and the ability to visualize the sound energy in a three-dimensional space. By utilizing the Envelope for Live system and the IEM energy visualizer plugin, I show how to work with the Astrometry Delay in an Ambisonics-capable setup, even in a stereo DAW like Ableton Live.

I also delve into the SideRack plugin, which enables the integration of iOS audio units into a DAW. As an example, I use the iOS version of the Astrometry Delay in Ableton Live via the SideRack plugin, demonstrating how to connect an iPhone or iPad to the computer and use it as an external digital signal processor. While the SideRack plugin is an interesting concept, I discuss its limited use cases and potential challenges in its implementation. Overall, both plugins offer unique features and possibilities for music producers and sound designers, with the Astrometry Delay being a particularly impressive and fun tool to work with.
